'Conversaciones'
These informal evenings will be all about developing/honing our skills by understanding the structure and general communication in Flamenco. There will be an emphasis on fun and connection, as we endeavour to demystify these things together, in a relaxed setting.
6:30 - 7:15pm - Dancer Farida Rabih will run a few activities designed to build confidence and improve communication. Nothing complicated, I promise!
7:30 - 8:15pm Guitarist Francesca Lizza will share her knowledge and experience through her perspective as both dancer and musician to guide, advise and inspire you.
8:30 - 9:30pm Guitarist José Giraldo, singer Manolo Muñoz and percussionist Raúl Ferrera will join us so that we can listen, ask more questions, apply what we have learnt wherever possible and just enjoy the magic of bringing all of the elements together.
9:30pm Jam session and open floor/mic - an opportunity for anyone and everyone to contribute, whether it be trying out a step/letra/melody or playing the essential role of support through palmas or jaleos.
Dancers, musicians and flamenco enthusiasts of all levels are welcome, as we will be easing in gradually. Hopefully this will lead to ongoing sessions, either in its complete form, or as weekly or fortnightly ‘classes’, so that we can go from spectator to participant more often and more easily.
